KASA Projects

KASA has been actively involved in the development, organization and promotion of Softball in Kelowna since 1995.

Our many fund raising efforts have been increasingly successful, due largely to the seemingly boundless energy, enthusiasm and determination of KASA Directors, our member leagues, players, officials, general membership and volunteers.

KASA hosts, assists with or otherwise contributes to many of the important tournaments in Kelowna and will continue to actively pursue our fair share of as many Regional, Provincial and National level events as possible.

KASA has been very involved in many fundraising efforts

KASA also operates the concession at the Mission Kinsmen Sportsfield Softball Complex, and supplies the table and chair rentals for all events held at the Mission quad beer gardens.

All proceeds from these and other KASA endevours is poured right back into softball oriented projects throughout the Kelowna area. KASA has already been instrumental in the innovation and funding of improvements to some of the most popular ball diamonds and parks in the Kelowna area. By partnering with the City of Kelowna under their 'Partners in Parks' initiative, KASA has contributed to the installation of field irrigation systems, lighting systems, the new 'permanent' beer gardens with table and chair storage and rental facilities, in-ground magnetic base systems....and a myriad of other improvements to the Mission Kinsmen Sportsfields Softball Complex.

We have been similarly involved in the design, development and maintenance of the facilities in East Kelowna---popularly known as the McCulloch Station Fields. In co-operation with the City of Kelowna once again, our combined efforts and resources resulted in new light systems, fencing, washroom and storage facilities, base systems, and the general upgrade of the park. This project alone added essentially 28 adult-sized fields per week to the inventory of softball diamonds in Kelowna--without having to pay extra land costs!

KASA has instigated, encouraged or participated in many of the pertinent discussions regarding our sport and the softball facilities in the Kelowna region. We subsequently helped to author the Sportsfields Facilities--Fees and Allocations Policy for City of Kelowna.

KASA will continue to be strong advocates for our sport and for all who partake of it. We will continue to participate in the design, development, operation and maintenance of sportsfields and facilities and to represent all softball players, teams, fans, and officials in the Kelowna region to the best of our abilities and in the true spirit of sportsmanship and co-operation.

Please help us help you. Sign up and play in our tournaments. Patronize the beer gardens and concession stand. Volunteer to help at one of our events. Contribute however and whenever you can.
